ABOUT

I am a textile designer creating luxuriously tactile and unique accessories and homewares by hand in my studio in Margate, Kent. It is my aim to combine natural ethical yarns and sustainable techniques with the concept of slow design and a modern aesthetic, carefully crafted to compliment contemporary living.

With a commitment to quality, value, sustainability and zero waste, each unique design is individually crafted to stand the test of time, with minimal impact on the planet. Using carefully selected 100% natural yarns I use hand-powered vintage knitting machinery to create each piece, before it is hand-sewn, hand-washed then naturally air-dried outdoors before being hand-finished with care.

My work is designed and crafted to be characterful, luxuriously textured and tactile, providing a timeless, long-lasting quality, with meticulous attention to detail, a strong sense of design and a colour palette inspired by the natural and organic forms of the Kent coastline where I live.

Following a Knitwear Degree at Nottingham Trent, I set up my own business soon after graduating and gained invaluable experience, knowledge and expertise over many years designing and creating women's luxury knitwear and accessories in my Clerkenwell studio. I have sold my designs through select boutiques whilst also providing a highly successful commission service to my many customers, selling my work throughout North America, Europe and Japan.

Over ten years ago I relocated from London to the Kent coast, where the incredible natural light, raw coastal textures and ever-changing sky and seascape provide a rich source of inspiration for my creative practice. Daily walks in this visually rich environment have been the catalyst to experiment, explore and create a wide range of knitted textiles inspired by nature.
